The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer

Exactly 30 years after the first Toy Story movie debuted, launching Pixar as a major film company and introducing audiences to beloved figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now household names.

In 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a brief look into the storyline but leaving fans curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

The preview reveals the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.

Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items find good homes.

Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?
